Procedures for foreign nationals to enter Vietnam

1. Who are eligible to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam?

All foreign citizens are allowed to enter Vietnam except for some individuals who are prohibited or restricted from entering according to Vietnamese laws

Currently, foreign nationals entering Vietnam have diverse purposes including: Foreign experts, foreign workers working in Vietnam; Investors, Foreigners entering Vietnam for visiting relatives, sightseeing, attending meetings, conferences, etc.

2. Procedures for applying for a visa for foreign nationals working in Vietnam

2.1. Individuals, companies, organizations authorized to sponsor foreigners entering Vietnam

Individuals, businesses, organizations invited to sponsor foreigners entering Vietnam include:

- Companies, enterprises:Limited Liability Company, Joint Stock Company, Partnership; Cooperative (Including domestic companies and companies with foreign investment)-

Authorized agencies:Branches, representative offices of domestic and foreign enterprises.-

Organizations based in Vietnam: Non-governmental organizations, international organizations, social organizations, professional organizations, associations, etc.-

Individuals: Individuals are Vietnamese citizens (not restricted citizen rights) and Foreigners currently residing temporarily or permanently in Vietnam have the right to sponsor inviting relatives to enter Vietnam.2.2. Procedures, documents for sponsoring an official letter online or directly for foreign nationals

Important notes before applying for an official letter and visa for foreign nationals:

Step 1:

Individuals, Business entities access the National e-Government Service Portal and the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security to register an electronic account (One-time registration). Once approved, you can register to apply for an entry permit onlineStep 2:

Business entities use the approved account to declare information for issuing an entry permit on the National e-Government Service Portal. Enterprises download the entire profile as required and fill in all information on the designated fields. Sign using the electronic signature protocol as required for electronic signaturesStep 3:

Businesses supplement documents as required by the National e-Government Service Portal (if any) while waiting for the resultsStep 4:

Receive the result online on the National e-Government Service Portal by logging in and downloading the entry permit file within 5 working daysDocuments for sponsoring an entry permit to Vietnam for experts, foreign workers, investors, conference participants, etc., by sponsoring organization, business;

- Certified copy of the organization's Operating License sponsoring organization

- Registration stamp model and signature of the legal representative of the organization, business according to form NA16 (for first-time submissions)

- Official letter requesting entry into Vietnam for foreigners according to form NA2. This form is filled out online on the official website of the Immigration Department, printed and signed and stamped by the sponsoring organization according to regulations

In the case of Vietnamese citizens sponsoring relatives who are foreign nationals. The dossier includes:

- Application for entry into Vietnam for relatives under the NA3 form

- Certified copy of the sponsor's ID card

- Certified copy of family relationship documents such as: birth certificate for children, parents, marriage certificate for spouses, household registration book, family certificate...

3. Receiving visas and entering at international airports and at the Embassy/Consulate General of Vietnam abroad

- The entry permit will indicate the place to receive the visa at the Embassy, Consulate General
