According to Article 18 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014, the issuance of visas at international border gates for foreigners is regulated in detail.
According to Article 18 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014, the issuance of visas to foreigners at international border gates is regulated as follows:
1. Foreigners are granted visas at international border gates in the following cases:
a) Departing from a country that does not have a competent visa-issuing authority in Vietnam;
b) Before coming to Vietnam, you have to go through many countries;
c) Entering Vietnam for sightseeing and tourism according to a program organized by an international travel agency in Vietnam;
d) Foreign crew members on board ships anchored at Vietnamese seaports who need to exit through another border gate;
d) Entering to attend a relative's funeral or visit a seriously ill relative;
e) Entering Vietnam to participate in emergency incident handling, rescue, disaster prevention, epidemic prevention or for other special reasons at the request of a competent authority of Vietnam.
2. Foreigners granted visas at international border gates must submit their passports or valid international travel documents and fill out visa application forms with photos at the immigration control unit. Children under 14 years old must fill out the visa application form of their parents or guardians if they share the same passport with their parents or guardians.
3. The immigration control unit checks and compares with the notification of the immigration management agency to issue the visa.
